Now the blockwork walls are being constructed onsite, these blockwork walls will be filled with steel reinforcement bars (which are tied to the ground bearing slab) and concrete to create the overall structural wall.
The concrete will be poured in stages say every 3/4 courses of blockwork and allowed to set before the next level of blockwork is constructed until the overall height is reached (underside of the beam and block first floor).

The concrete has now been poured onto the mesh to allow the footing toe edge to be completed ready to move onto the rest of the concrete slab. This concrete foundation is tied into the retaining wall via the metal reinforcement which ties it all together and the foundation will be further tied together by the concrete slab via more metal reinforcement bars.

This is the time for the foundation mesh to go into the hole ready for the concrete to be poured. The banking has also be restrained to prevent land from the embankment slipping into the foundation and creating issues with the foundations overall strength.
