This was a concept for bungalow extension ideas in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The scheme involves the formation of new roof space and the addition of a new integral double garage. We have also redesigned all the interior spaces to form open plan living, along side a games room and more formal bedroom and reception room spaces. This scheme is situated within a greenbelt site.

We received planning permission for this Contemporary New Build Dwelling In Keighley, West Yorkshire. The project is due to start on site in the next couple of weeks.
This is a complimentary / contrasting contemporary design for the site which sets a precedent in the area for high design standards. We feel that the existing mature tree line to the boundaries of the site softens the building from the road and the immediate site and will help it to sit very comfortably within the site. The neighbouring buildings are of assorted designs and material finishes and we do not feel that the proposed scheme will have anything other than a positive effect on Skipton Road and the immediate site.

We have:
  • Used a mixed palette of traditional and contemporary materials to give visual interest to the building facades.
  • Used layering of materials to give depth and contrast to the façades.
  • Created a traditional roof form that can potentially maximise solar technology and also have a minimal impact on overall building height.
The proposal respects the scale, proportions and height of neighbouring properties, whilst not necessarily mimicking, the character of its surroundings, it will make a strong contribution to the visual quality of the area.
